The Schooner Yacht America made history in 1851 by winning the first formal racing competition between British and American yachts. Thereafter, the trophy was known as the America's Cup. The America had a long and interesting history, including sailing for both the North and South during the Civil War. James C. Bard's(1815-97) original oil painting inspired these dramatic placemats. These handsome Placemats, in sets of four, are made in New Zealand and measure 17" x 11½". They are easy to care for and their unique finish enhances the design.
